Subscription & Auto-Renewal Terms

Bamboo Chinese offers premium membership plans that unlock full access to all HSK learning content, including all 6 proficiency levels, all 13 exercise types, and unlimited practice sessions. These terms govern the purchase, renewal, and cancellation of subscriptions to Bamboo Chinese Premium.

By purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Auto-Renewal Terms as well as our full Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Bamboo Chinese currently offers the following plans:

• Monthly Pass — A one-time purchase providing 30 days of premium access. This plan does not auto-renew. You will not be billed again after the initial purchase unless you choose to buy another pass.
• Monthly Subscription — An auto-renewing subscription billed once every 30 days. Your subscription will automatically renew each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Annual Membership — An auto-renewing subscription billed once every 365 days. This plan typically offers the best value per day of premium access. Your subscription will automatically renew each year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

All prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase. Pricing may vary by region.

The following applies to all auto-renewing subscriptions:

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) at the time of purchase confirmation
• Your subscription will automatically renew unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your current subscription plan
• You can manage and turn off auto-renewal in your account settings at any time

iOS (Apple ID): Auto-renewal is managed through your Apple ID. You can turn off auto-renewal in the Settings app on your device. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, then select Bamboo Chinese and toggle off auto-renewal.

Android (Google Play): Auto-renewal is managed through the Google Play Store. Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, select Bamboo Chinese, and tap Cancel subscription.

All billing is handled by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Bamboo Chinese does not directly store or process your payment information.

• Payment is charged to your app store account upon purchase confirmation
• For auto-renewing subscriptions, your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or the policies of Apple or Google
• You are responsible for all applicable taxes associated with your purchase

If a payment fails, we may suspend your access to premium features until the payment is successfully processed.

From time to time, Bamboo Chinese may offer a free trial period for auto-renewing subscriptions. The following applies to free trials:

• Free trials are only available to new subscribers who have not previously subscribed to that plan
• If you do not cancel before the end of the free trial period, you will be automatically charged the subscription price at the end of the trial
• The unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited if you purchase a subscription before the trial ends
• To avoid charges, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial period ends

Free trial availability may vary by region and is not guaranteed to be available at all times.

You may cancel your auto-renewing subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to premium features until then.

To cancel on iOS (iPhone / iPad):

1. Open the Settings app on your device
2. Tap your name at the top to open your Apple ID settings
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Find and tap Bamboo Chinese
5. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm

Alternatively, visit https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions in a browser.

To cancel on Android:

1. Open the Google Play Store app
2. Tap your profile icon in the top right
3. Tap Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
4. Find and tap Bamboo Chinese
5. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts

Important: Cancelling through the Bamboo Chinese app itself does not cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel through the platform where you made the purchase.

All purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Bamboo Chinese cannot directly issue refunds. All refund requests must be submitted to the relevant platform.

Apple App Store (iOS): To request a refund, visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Select the purchase and choose "Request a Refund." Apple will review your request and notify you of the outcome.

Google Play (Android): To request a refund, visit https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637 for instructions on requesting a refund through Google Play.

We reserve the right to change subscription prices from time to time. If we change the price of a subscription you are currently subscribed to:

• We will notify you at least 30 days in advance via an in-app notification and/or email
• The new price will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the notice
• If you do not agree to the price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect
• Continuing to use the service after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price

Price changes will not affect one-time Monthly Pass purchases.

When you cancel an auto-renewing subscription:

• Your premium access will continue until the end of the current billing period
• You will not be charged for the next billing period
• After the billing period ends, your account will revert to the free tier
• Your learning progress, vocabulary data, and account information are retained even after downgrading to free
• You may re-subscribe at any time to regain full premium access

If you delete your account entirely, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
